About 60% of Nigerians – over 90 million people are living without access to electricity services. Ninety five million people depend on inefficient methods of wood use for their daily cooking. This results in 79,000 deaths annually. The lack of access to modern energy services reinforces poverty and jeopardizes Nigeria’s efforts to achieve its Millennium Development Goals.
